Detail On-Site Estimate

Booking your free estimate has never been easier using our online booking calendar tool. Pick a day and time that best works for you and your estimate will be scheduled. You will receive reminders prior to the appointment.

Our estimator will visit your home to measure and assess all surfaces to be painted or repaired. Most visits last less than an hour and there's no hard sales tactics.
The estimate will be written in detail by line items showing the amount and cost of the work. You know exactly what you're paying for and it can easily be adjusted.
Estimates are emailed within 48 hours unless you request another means of delivery. You review the estimate at your leisure and let us know when you are ready to proceed.
Depending on the time of the year most projects are started within 3-7 days. We work year round provided the temperature is no lower than 35 degrees.

Project Preparation And Paint

We prepare by purchasing all approved materials on the scope of work document. Once on site if additional damage is discovered we notify the homeowner to provide pricing and obtain approval.

We always use brand new materials on all of our projects. We always provide budget friendly options.
Damaged materials that are removed are replaced by the end end of the day. We never leave openings overnight to your home.
All installed materials are caulked at seams, gaps, and nail heads. The goal is to keep water, snow, and humidity out of the house.
We apply primer to bare wood prior to applying paint.
Removed materials are neatly stacked in a designated area until disposed of at the completion of the project.
Remove all masking materials, clean up area, and discard all debris.

Project Review And Follow Up

Trust Home Pros to give you peace-of-mind on your exterior carpentry project by conducting a 1 year follow up visit free of charge. No other company in the Kansas City area provides this service. We wonder why??

Upon project completion the lead painter on the project will conduct a thorough walk-thru to review the work and address any issues pointed out right there on the spot.
If you happen to see something that is missed at the walk-thru just contact our office and we will send someone out within 3 days to fix.
You receive a 1 year transferable warranty certificate via email which is a great marketing tool if you're selling your house.
Approximately 1 year after the project is completed we will send out a notice letting you know it's time for the project checkup.
You schedule a day and time that works for you and review the project with our painter. Any issues discovered are fixed right there on the spot.
Painters are human and no matter how much we brag about workmanship and warranties things do happen. We are there for you to handle those "things" that happen related to the paint project.

How much does it cost to fix wood rot or replace exterior siding?
The cost to replace wood rot or siding on a house depends on various factors:
- location of repair
- type of material being installed
- do we have to remove other items
- location of the house
- size of lumber or siding being replaced
This is truly one of those projects where it has to be seen by the estimator (or perhaps a picture submitted to us) in order to see first hand what all is involved.

Our company has established pricing based on the size and type of lumber being replaced. So for example if you wanted to replace 1x3 size trim on the corners of your chimney then you would be looking at $45 per 8ft section. If you wanted to replace a sheet of siding you would be looking at $120. If the siding sheet is on the 2nd or 3rd level then it would be priced slightly more.
What kind of materials do you use for carpentry?

Our first goal with any carpentry work is to try and match what is in place. So if you have pine we replace with pine so everything matches.

At times it's more feasible to replace with a better grade material. An example would be that if you have a piece of trim that keeps rotting out where the down spouts are located then it might be best to install a piece of smart trim or PVC to keep from happening again in the future or at least prolong the rot from coming back.

One big challenge is trying to get the same design or size. The sizing and design are some times not available--especially if you have an older home. We wok with homeowners to come up with a viable solution that takes care of the problem with minimal impact to the aesthetics.
How long do you warranty exterior carpentry repairs?

Our standard carpentry repair warranty is 1 year from completion.

The reason we can't go longer is that we have no control over the effect the environment plays on the house.

In the Kansas City area we go through some extreme conditions which causes houses to contract and expand. Depending on the amount of expansion and contraction, boards can move significanlty causing seams to split.

As a standard policy we use Sherwin Williams Powerhouse latex caulking. This is the 2nd best latex caulk that Sherwin Williams produces to help minimize these seam cracks.
Is primer required on replacement materials?
Primer should be used on:
- exposed bare wood
- when the existing paint is not sound
- metal siding or surfaces
Think of primer as glue that bonds the surface being painted and the new paint.

Smart trim and PVC materials typically do not require primer as they already have a primer applied at the factory.
